The Los Cerritos Center is teaming up with National Geographic Kids to offer shoppers and their children a unique interactive learning environment with demonstrations, games, crafts and music. Kids Club Events are free to the public and available once a month.

Kids Club will be out of this world in February and diving into the rain forest in March with interactive games and activities that focus on discovery through play. The journey through space will continue at Kids Club on Saturday, February 14 with an interactive presentation on all things space and the final frontier. On Saturday, March 14, Kids Club will explore the exotic plants and animals of rainforests through special demonstrations and activities.

Did you know that the classic movie, Dirty Dancing is now on stage at Segerstrom Hall? I just had to take my mom while she was here visiting earlier this week – especially since it is one of our favorite movies!

Just like in the movie, Dirty Dancing On Stage starts off in the summer of 1963 when Babe and her family take a vacation to New York’s Catskill Mountains with her family. Bored of the regular activities going on at the resort, she wanders into the employees quarters and discovers a whole new world of drama, parties and fun. As she gets to know a few of the employees, she ends up volunteering as Johnny’s dance partner for an upcoming show.

Families are invited to Mile Square Park for Monarch Butterfly Day to learn about Monarch Butterflies, their natural habitat and and up close look at these beautiful creatures. The free event takes place inside the Butterfly Garden at the park’s Camp Sycamore located near parking lot E.

Over the weekend we decided to take the family out for a rip roaring, high flying great time at Monster Jam at Angels Stadium.

Since we went to the event last year, we have become excited Monster Jam fans. The Hubster and my little guy are now collecting as many mini Monster Trucks they can find at local toy stores or even online, so it’s quite a treat when they can see these giant cars up close.
