We’re heading into the final stretch of summer, are you ready? Have you started accumulating school supplies?Typically we start off by cleaning our our closets and making donations to local charities. Then we head out for back to school shopping, but I’ve recently discovered an organization called Schoola, where you can both donate and get name brand, gently used clothing while supporting local schools and programs at this same time.
Who doesn’t just love San Francisco? The hustle and bustle of a beautiful city, but everything is within walking distance.

The whole reason behind the two week long road trip – visiting friends in Deer Park, Washington. One of my husband’s old co-workers moved his family to Deer Park, Washington and built a beautiful log cabin home. They had been inviting us over and over again to come up and visit, that we finally jumped at the chance for a road trip.
So first off, we have to thank Jeff, JoAnna and Noah for inviting us up to Washington to visit them, and for encouraging us to go on this amazing family adventure.

Last week, we planned a romantic date night at Segerstrom Center For The Arts to see Ghost The Musical.
Back in 1990, when Ghost was released on the big screen, it easily became my favorite movie. Now, this box office hit is a Broadway and West-End musical now showing at Segerstrom Center For The Arts.
Last week, my beautiful princess had quite a day. On Saturday, we got up, headed out to one or local annual festivals and she performed her favorite solo dance to “Let It Go”. We enjoyed some time with her dance friends at the festival, then ran off to a fun girls day at the opening of a new jewelry store in Riverside, Don Roberto Jewelers.
When planning this 2 week long road trip, in talking with a few friends, a couple recommended stopping in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho if we got the chance. They said it was a beautiful little lake town that we really didn’t want to miss.
So after our detour out of Yellowstone National Park, we headed to Coeur d’Alene, and I fell in love.
Reading with my kids is a special treat. Now that my handsome boy is a great reader, I love picking up new books for him. I received an invitation to do a review on My Gentle Barn, which I had assumed was a children’s book, but was quite wrong. I was pleasantly surprised that it was a true story written by Ellie Laks about her life and the history behind The Gentle Barn currently located in Santa Clarita.
The next leg of our journey took is to Yellowstone National Park. I was particularly excited about this leg of the trip because I was eager to see Old Faithful.
It was a little overcast while we driving through Yellowstone, but to me, it added to the picturesque landscape.
