This November, celebrate turkeys, volunteerism and more at Pretend City Children’s Museum. For the month of November, children will learn how to give back to the community through thoughtfully designed activities; children explore the humanitarian ideas of philanthropy, volunteerism, donations and community support.
Lately the weather has been a little up and down. In the morning it’s 48 degrees and by noon it is jumping to 80+. This crazy weather is making our skin really dry!

This just in; one of my favorite Broadway shows is coming to Segerstrom Center for the Arts in January and I’m super excited!
CHICAGO, which opened to rave reviews on November 14, 1996, now has the distinction of being the longest running American musical in Broadway history and shows no sign of slowing down. The purely entertaining show returns to Segerstrom Center for the Arts January 28 – February 2, 2014 and will star award-winning actor and star of stage, TV & film, John O’ Hurley, reprising the role of Billy Flynn.
We’re now in holiday mode around the house, and one of my favorite things to do with the kids is read holiday stories. In fact, I have quite a collection of books just for the holidays, we have enough to read one a night starting Dec 1st all the way through to Christmas.
I was recently introduced to The Sparkle Box, and just HAD to share it. It’s a beautiful story about the true meaning of giving during the holidays, and making it a family tradition, one that we will now start too.
Over the summer, The Hubster and I took the family to see Turbo, the tale of a snail with big dreams of being a race car driver. Funny, but I think my son has the same dreams and ambitions because he is obsessed with anything on four wheels.
And now, just in time for the holidays, Turbo makes his way onto Digital HD, Blu-ray and DVD November 12th.

The closest resort to LA and Southern California will be opening as soon as it is cold enough to fire up those snow making machines. Typically Mountain High opens mid November, are you ready?
