May Fun & Rock Stars at Pretend City | @PretendCity

This May, Pretend City Children’s Museum is inviting youngsters to party like rock stars as they “Rock the City!” Give them a stage, and they’ll give you a performance of a lifetime. All future rock stars are invited to wear the wildest costumes, play the coolest instruments, and perform at the hottest venue in Orange County: the Pretend City Children’s Museum Amphitheater! Through interactive performances, special guest appearances, and special programming, Pretend City explores what it takes to put on a rockin’ good show.

Color The City this April at Pretend City | @PretendCity #color

For the month of April, Pretend City is getting into color. Color The City all month long by exploring art and creativity. Color outside the lines, paint pink and blue trees, or create a glittery masterpiece as this months is dedicated to children’s artistic (not craftistic!) expressions in the Art Studio.

Celebrating March At Pretend City | @PretendCity

Is shopping a chore, especially with your little ones in tow? Venture to Pretend City during March to teach them how to help you shop at a grocery store.

This month, grown-ups and children will learn about all the fun things that happen behind the scenes in a grocery store during the month of March at Pretend City Children’s Museum’s Grocery Store! What a great way to teach children about healthy produce, dairy and more.

Pretend City Children’s Museum invites children and families to explore adventures in health in the month of February as this month is dedicated to children’s overall well-being. From dribbles to sniffles and everything in between, monitoring a child’s growth introduces many new experiences to a family’s life. Children have the opportunity to learn about the careers and resources that help keep them healthy through exciting pretend play! Various play scenarios, fun facilitated activities, and special guests are sure to encourage children and make them eager for their next well-child check-up!

October is here and Halloween is steadily creeping up on the calendars. And what better way to kick-off the Halloween countdown than to start practicing a new customary Halloween chant, “Trick or treat? Watch your sweets!” This fun holiday introduces children to tradition, costumes, candy and not surprisingly, cavities. Although the experience of trick-or-treating is not worth skipping out on during a growing child’s life, parents need to be aware that the treats children receive can become a dental nightmare after Halloween’s passing.

On Thursday, September 19th, we celebrated national “Talk Like a Pirate Day with a pirate party where we danced like pirates, stomped our boots in a pirate parade, listened to pirate-themed stories and practiced gross motor skills by walking the plank. Pretend City is all about having fun in an interactive learning environment.

It’s now October and bugs have invaded Irvine! Bright and busy bugs have filled Pretend City Children’s Museum and have made their creepy, crawly way over to the museum’s craggy cave, grassy meadow and frightful farm shed.

Embark on a Pirate Adventure this September at Pretend City | @PretendCity

Now that most of the “Big Kids” are back in school; for September, Pretend City is calling all little and big explorers to sail away and find the treasure in reading. Celebrate “Talk Like a Pirate Day” and take a literary peek into a pirate’s life on the rolling seas.

Celebrate reading in September because it is National Literacy Month! Pretend City encourages the love of reading and promotes literacy as a fundamental skill for children’s success.

When I Grow Up Day At Pretend City | @pretendcity

It’s amazing to think that Pretend City is in its 4^th year entertaining families in Orange County. For the month of August, they are focusing on back to school and keeping children engaged in community activities. Therefore, you’re not going to want to miss their upcoming “When I Grow Up Day” on Friday, August 23^rd from 10am – 3pm, where children will be able to engage with professionals and learn about what they do.
