The Hubster and I typically plan on a date night at least once a month. With our calendars so hectic right now, we typically just do dinner and catch up on our favorite shows at home – I know BORING! To kick off October and a month full of Halloween fun, Knott’s Scary Farm was the perfect venue for a special date night.

Halloween just so happens to be our favorite holiday. I absolutely love decorating the house and making a trip to all of the spookiest places throughout Southern California – Knott’s Scary Farm being my absolute favorite.
Want to test your Disney knowledge? Our friends at Wonder Forge created this iPhone/iPad app that is fun for the whole Disney loving family – Pictopia, Disney Edition.

There are so many amazing Halloween events out this year, that I just can’t cover them all. Therefore I sent a contributor: Peter Hernandez and friends off to Haunted Hollywood Sports to get the scoop on this crazy fun night of adult Halloween fun.

Killing zombies has always been a fantasy of mine, even if I can only do it in my mind or vicariously through characters on certain television shows. While I do find myself living out these little scenarios more so around Halloween, I have never really been able to scratch my proverbial zombie killing itch…until now. On September 26th, I was able to attend the preview night for this year’s Haunted Hollywood Sports event in Bellflower, CA.
What do you do when you have kindergarten kids that get out of school earlier than their older siblings? We decided to plan a Barbie and The Secret Door Playdate at the park.

Since we’ve only been in school for about 6 weeks now, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for my princess to get to know a couple of her classmates a little better, since we’ve been discussing having a playdate since school started. There were a couple of girls from class that I had in mind because I knew they had older siblings and also had to wait an hour and a half before their pick up time.

Lately, the night time routine has become sort of a chore. My kids are trying to convince me that they are so tired by the end of the day, that they are too exhausted to take a bath or brush their teeth. At least when it comes to the bath, they quickly change their minds when they remember their water toys. Now, I finally have a tool that entices them to brush their teeth regularly – the Ready Go Brush by Firefly.

I am quite thankful that Firefly has come up with a fun way to get the kiddos to WANT to brush their teeth.
Mark your calendar for October 18th & 19th for a super fun family event: The San Diego Kids Expo & Fair.

Last week I was honored to participate in the grand opening of the expansion of the Simon Youth Academy at the Westminster Mall.

For 16 years, the Simon Youth Academy has been helping at risk teenagers (18 years and up) to successfully complete their high school education and receive their diplomas.
One of the longest running solo plays in Broadway history about the ways men and women relate will be at Fox Riverside Live and we’re giving away 2 tickets.

Rob Becker’s comedy Defending the Caveman will appear for two shows (2 p.m. and 7 p.m.) at the Fox Performing Arts Center (3801 Mission Inn Ave.) in Riverside, Calif., on Saturday, October 18, 2014.
Just this last week, my handsome boy turned 7. The years are going so fast (as everyone said they would), but this time, we were extra busy with enrolling him in soccer and now Fall baseball. Typically I enjoy throwing him huge parties at the house, inviting all our local relatives as well as a few (10-20) of his closest friends. Yes, a HUGE undertaking, but this year our schedule didn’t allow it! Thankfully we decided to rely on Pump It Up in Huntington Beach to help us create the perfect celebration for our birthday boy.

You’ve been to a birthday party or event at Pump It Up, right? It seems now a days, parents are more and more swamped with work, childrens activities and such that we all turn to places like Pump It Up to plan the celebration for us. And let me be the first one to tell you, they certainly make it a “piece of cake”.
