Tranquil Resort on Mission Bay – The Bahia Resort Hotel | @BahiaHotelSD

We love to travel, however I haven’t been brave enough to take my family on an airplane yet.  Probably next year I would imagine.  Because of that, we travel to local destinations like Las Vegas, San Francisco and San Diego.

My husband’s favorite place to hit up with the kids is Seaworld.  And since we like to stay and play as long as possible, we prefer to spend the night at a family friendly hotel that is close to the amusement park.   My mom told me that when we were little, we used to stay at the Bahia Hotel.  I was excited to discover that it is about 5 minutes from Seaworld – a win win!!!
The Bahia Resort Hotel is located on Mission Bay, with several different room options.  You can have a “Bay View”, “Garden View” or a “Marina View” room – all with easy access to the beach.  The picture to the right is actually the view from our 1st floor suite.
During the summer, the location of the Bahia is the perfect place to view the fireworks from Seaworld.

We stayed in a suite, perfect for a larger family.  There is a separate room with two queen size beds, a wet bar/kitchen and comfortable sitting area with a sleeper sofa.

We usually try to get separate sleeping quarters so that once we get the kids to sleep, we can have quiet time to relax, watch a show or movie and plan the events of the following day.

The Bahia has a variety of activities available to guests of all ages available at the property, including water and land sports like sailing, surfing, water-skiing, skating, and so much more.  A beautiful swimming pool and the hydro-therapy pool are great for those who wish to spend a day away from the sand.  All ages will have fun playing Tennis or Shuffleboard.  Rent watercraft and bikes to tour around the bay or sidewalks.  There is also a fitness center, video arcade and a gift shop.
If you decide to leave the property, there are many restaurants within walking distance.  We were in the mood for Italian, so we went to a local restaurant nearby for the largest slices of pizza I think I’ve ever seen.  And for a fun evening for the kids, Belmont Park is across the way.
There is a “Kids Corner” on their website where you can play games and check out what they have to offer for their youngest guests.
In the evenings, guests can take a ride on the Bahia Bell and tour around the bay.  Sailings are nightly starting at 6:30pm and at 9:30pm becomes an adult retreat with cocktails and music.  Refreshments and snacks are available for purchase.
Need to get some work done, or catch up on emails after the kids are in bed? Enjoy complimentary high-speed Internet from the comfort of your room or at the business center.
Next time we plan a trip to “Staycation” to San Diego, I plan to include the Bahia since it is really a great family resort with many of the amenities we look for.  Check it out for yourself: Bahia Hotel.

Special thanks to our friends at the Bahia Resort Hotel who supplied us with an
industry rate room and tickets to local attractions in the area.
