Today we had the opportunity to attend Kinderfest during Oktoberfest at Old World HB. A family friendly celebration, Kinderfest will entertain families every Sunday from 2:00 pm to 7:30 pm through October 27th. It is open to all ages (anyone under 21 must be accompanied by a parent) with family friendly activities like the traditional Chicken Dance, live German Bands, authentic German food and beers, carnival games, a bouncy house, Do Do the chicken, face painting and, Wiener and Small-Breed dog races from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Oktoberfest is open now through Sunday, October 28th. Adults are $10, kids 6-12 are $3 and 5 and under are FREE.
On Sunday, September 30, Old World Huntington Beach will officially kick off this year’s 41st Oktoberfest with its traditional parade through the village and arriving at Old World’s Festival Hall. There, the Master of Ceremonies will insert the first tap into the first keg and with a rousing cry of “O’zapft is” (“it’s tapped”) will officially opened the festival to the public.
Grand Marshall for this year’s parade is Senator Janet Nguyen of California’s 34th District. Nguyen has lived in the district for over 28 years and is a proud graduate of the local public school district. The parade starts at 2:00 pm.
German Unity day is Thursday, October 4th. The first 500 guests will receive FREE German Food in honor of the 28th Anniversary of the reunification of the Federal Republic and the Democratic Republic of Germany.
This year’s Oktoberfest will run Wednesday through Sunday, September 9 through October 28.
- Wednesdays and Thursdays are FREE and open to all ages (anyone under 21 must be accompanied by parent) from 6:30pm-10:30pm.
- Fridays and Saturdays are open to anyone 21 and over with valid identification from 6:30 pm to 1:00 am.
- Admission is $10 on Fridays and $10 on Saturdays in September and $15 in October.
- Sunday is KINDERFEST and open to all ages (anyone under 21 must be accompanied by parent) from 2:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
- Dachshund Races are held every Sunday from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
- Adults are $10, kids 6-12 are $3 and 5 and under are FREE.
