It’s that time of the year again.  Time to pre order your tickets to hop on board the Christmas Train to take those traditional photos with Santa at Irvine Park Railroad.  The Christmas Train will be arriving at Irvine Park Railroad on Friday, November 30, 2018. Enjoy an enchanting night ride through historic Irvine Regional Park to meet Santa Claus at the North Pole. Tickets will only be available via pre-order online starting November 1, 2018 . Get your tickets now before the event sells out!

Christmas Train at Irvine Park Railroad

Christmas Train tickets will be available ONLINE ONLY starting November 1st via www.IrvineParkRailroad.com! Tickets are $15 per person (children younger than 24 months are free), and are valid for a specific date and time — get in line and board the train any time during the hour for which you purchase tickets.

While waiting to board the train, there are many activities for children to enjoy in Santa’s Village located next to the train station. Activities will open one hour prior to when the Christmas Train runs and include:

  • Story Time with Mrs. Claus
  • Christmas Cookie Decorating
  • Carnival Games
  • Ice Fishing
  • Santa Claus Moon Bounce
  • Christmas Coloring Corner
  • Picture Stands
  • Blizzard Ball
  • Prices for activities vary; for additional information and costs

At the North Pole, visitors may purchase coffee, hot chocolate, freshly-popped popcorn, hot pretzels, and cookies from Santa’s Snack Shop. A full kitchen menu is available at the train station.

Irvine Park Railroad Mrs. Claus

Take your own pictures with Santa or purchase a picture taken by Irvine Park Railroad. Each 5″ x 7″ photo will be presented with an Irvine Park Railroad borer and available for pickup shortly after being taken.

Christmas Train in the Tunnel of Lights

After visiting with Santa, hop back aboard the train and enjoy the colorful Christmas lights and decorations, as well as the magical “Tunnel of Lights”, on the ride back to the station.

The Irvine Park Railroad Christmas Train is open beginning Friday, November 30th through Sunday, December 23rd. Please visit this web site for hours and to purchase tickets.  

Reminder, parking for Irvine Regional Park is $3 per vehicle on weekdays and $5 per vehicle on weekends. After 5pm, the parking is free.

When visiting the Christmas Train, remember to dress warmly, bring a camera and arrive early to avoid crowds.

  1. Our favorite holiday tradition is having eggnog with whipped cream while decorating the Christmas tree. But if we win, we may have a new tradition. 😉

  2. My hubby and I have only been married 4 years and we’ve moved around a lot so we really haven’t established a tradition yet. But now that we’ve settled down in the OC we are looking forward to things like the Christmas train and viewing Christmas lights.

  4. We go to the Christmas train every year and that is my favorite family tradition… Also love that we eat Chinese food on Christmas Eve.

  5. We love driving around looking at lights and making cookies for Santa. Out biggest tradition is making tamales and giving them out as gifts.

Several traditions I wait for all year long are santa pictures with my son and his cousins, love seeing how much they have grown in the year…. also love Christmas morning and seeing all the boys in their matching Jammie’s. This year will the first year for elf on the shelve in our house and so I’m really looking forward to all the fun of that tradition.
