Save On Water Fun For The Whole Family at Raging Waters

A Southern California Summer calls for many days of a variety of family fun and water play.  With local beaches, splash pads and water parks, we certainly have options. As a kid, one of my favorite summer spots was Raging Waters in San Dimas that offers more rides, slides and attractions for kids than any other water park in the state, this 50 acre water adventure is sure to deliver gallons of fun and thrills for the whole family.

Raging Waters San Dimas High Extreme

Raging Waters, San Dimas offers fun for all ages. Our youngsters aren’t ones to run to the more daring rides and slides, so we start off in the “tame” section. The Little Dipper is designed for pint sized guests, this is the perfect splash zone and water slides for ages 18 months to 6 years.

Just across the way is Kid’s Kingdom where a giant colorful water structure with fountains, water falls, slides and more awaited toddlers and children up to about 10 years old. A few quick runs down the slides and we were on to our next attraction.

My kids absolutely LOVE the Wave Cove. Complimentary life vests are available to young guests to assist them in bobbing up and down through the waves.  As a matter of fact, all guests that are 48″ and under are REQUIRED to wear life jackets and are insisted to stay within arms reach of their parents. There are also inner tubes available as well to ride the waves.

Another family area is the Volcano Fantasea and the Splash Island Adventure. This area was quite crowded with entire families wading in the water or awaiting the giant 1,000 gallon bucket from Slash Island Adventure to dump on the victims below. Splash Island Adventure features 12 levels and 75 activities–including five slides, water cannons, web crawl tunnels, spiral cargo nets and swinging bridges.

Our favorite spot of the day is typically the Amazon Adventure.  Once my kids get in – they NEVER want to get out.  So we spent roughly an hour just floating (or chasing the kids) around the lagoon. However, for guests that are looking for a little thrill seeking rides, you’ll want to check out:

  • Aqua Rocket
  • The Bermuda Triangle
  • Dark Hole
  • Dragon’s Den
  • Drop Out
  • High Extreme
  • Neptune’s Fury
  • Speed Slides
  • Raging Racer
  • Dr. Von Dark’s Tunnel of Terror
  • Thunder Rapids
  • The Vortex

We actually got the kiddos on the Aqua Rocket and they actually enjoyed it. This year they have gotten a little more daring, so we can’t wait to take them to Raging Waters this summer.
