It’s Halloween time, and Pretend City Children’s Museum is celebrating! Your youngsters will enjoy checking out the new creepy crawly cafe and making they way around the city to visit silly, not-so-spooky characters. This holiday will surely have your little ghouls and goblins howling in excitement! So save the scary creatures for later because Pretend City is bringing some fun to this holiday!
You may notice that the Girls Scouts out in full force this fall. However, they won’t be selling the usual cookies that you typically see them sell. This year they are rolling out a Fall Product Program, selling a wide variety of nuts, chocolates, photo keepsakes and magazines and I had a chance to sample some of these delicious treats.
The Girl Scout’s Fall Product Program is not just about earning money for their troop activities, it teaches them important life skills like goal setting, money management, decision making, people skills, and business ethics. Girl Scouts are also learning the importance of giving back, as they donate snacks and nuts to food banks and magazines to the military through the “Care to Share” program.
On September 27th, we were lucky enough to be able to attend an advanced screening of Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion at AMC Century City 15 which will be airing on the Disney Channel on October 3rd at 9pm.
The experience was super exciting and filled with everything every little padawan or Jedi could dream of. There was a raffle for a Star Wars lego set and for a lightsaber kit.

The City of Garden Grove is opening up their streets with a unique concept: Downtown Open Streets, and you’re invited to join in on the fun and celebrate.
On Sunday, October 12th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. nearly 3-miles of Garden Grove streets will be completely car-free. Downtown Garden Grove will be open streets for walking, biking, skating and playing. Guests will enjoy food, music, dance, art, and workshops curated by Community Arts Resources (CARS) will showcase the cultural diversity of the area and fill the pedestrian-only zones with unique community experiences for all to enjoy.
As my husband tells me, I’m pretty picky when it comes to food. I just keep telling him that I like what I like, and there isn’t much of a variation there. I typically do not stray from my favorites, but, when it comes to Del Taco and their new Fresca Bowls, I’m glad I did.
