Open House & Family Fun Day at The Center For Autism

You’re invited!!! The Center for Autism & Neurodevelopmental Disorders has a brand new 21,000 square-foot facility in Santa Ana.  The newly renovated space now offers a wide variety of treatment options for families, including ABA, social skills classes, psychology, psychiatry, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech and language therapy, and a wellness program all in one convenient location.

On Saturday, May 10, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., members of the community are welcome to come tour The Center, meet the team, learn about the services offered and have some fun.

This wil be a family fun event including the following for kids of all ages:

  • Face Painting
  • Balloon Making
  • Art Stations
  • Yoga and Goodies for Kids
  • Newport Rib Company
  • Homemade Popsicles by Front Porch Pops
  • CHOC’s Choco Bear
  • The Chapman University Panther
  • UCI’s  Peter the Anteater

“We are excited to show the community the brand new Center for Autism,” said Dr. Joseph Donnelly, medical director of The Center and UC Irvine and CHOC Children’s pediatric neurologist. “Not only has the facility nearly tripled in size, but it now allow us to see more patients and offer psychological, physical, occupational and speech therapy as well as nutrition consultations all under one roof.”

Established by the William & Nancy Thompson Family Foundation and the Children and Families Commission of Orange County, The Center for Autism is home to a team of experts in the field of autism and neurodevelopmental disorders. The Center for Autism has grown from a small clinic that offered evaluation and diagnois to a full service center.  Some of the services now offered include evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, family support and community education to children, adolescents and young adults from birth to 22 years.  
“Our goal is to give help and hope to children and families challenged by autism. If your family is touched by one of these disorders, we want you to know that we understand, we care, and we’re here to help,” said Donnelly.

Originally founded in 2001 (as For OC Kids), The Center for Autism is home to a team of experts in the field of autism and neurodevelopmental disorders. Since the opening, The Center has been a leader in assessment, diagnosis and care coordination for children with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
