Blogaversary Giveaway Day 12: A Birthday Tradition – Farrell’s | @FarrellsIsBack #Farrells #BTCBlogaversary

Farrell’s celebrates the classic American family tradition with spectacular birthdays. As a kid, I remember visiting Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour in Huntington Beach every birthday with friends and family in tow.  Having such fond memories, naturally I decided to celebrate my birthday they way I remember it best.
Farrells Ice Cream Parlour Restaurants

On the menu, you can find old favorites like burgers, sandwiches a giant chili cheese hot dog and clown ice cream Sundays, but do you remember the gigantic family/party sized ice creams like “The Zoo” and the “Hot Fudge Volcano”?  All still on the menu.  However, you have to try the “Ice Cream Nachos”; sounds crazy, but it’s delish!

Us at Farrells

I let the kids choose where they wanted to take me for my birthday celebration, and they chose the Farrell’s in Buena Park as it’s pretty close to home. I secretly think they just wanted to see mama get embarrassed with the lights, sirens, drum and whoopla that is included with each birthday celebration, which is always fun!

Farrells Gastronomicaldelicatessenepicurean’s Delight!

The hubster decided on the Farrell’s Gastronomicaldelicatessenepicurean’s Delight! The “Gastro” is quite the hearty sandwich, over flowing with corned beef, delicious stacked ham, oven-roasted turkey breast, Swiss cheese, crisp lettuce, red, ripe tomatoes, sliced onions and Italian dressing on a parmesan-buttered roll. When this baby comes out of the kitchen, watch out! It’s a lot to take on in one sitting! Oh, and the amazing presentation with a little song and dance.

Farrells Baja Fish Tacos

The breaded fish tacos are a must for me if I’m not in the mood for a hamburger. Three “traditional style” tacos stuffed with beer-battered cod ~ topped with  a delicious Asian coleslaw and chipotle mayo sauce. This dish is typically paired with French fries, but I usually select some fresh fruit instead.

They kids get what they typically get at ALMOST every restaurant – the Mac N’ Cheese, Please, and it was gone before I could even snap a picture.

Farrells Ice Cream

At Farrell’s, ice cream is a must, so when you place your order, make sure you have enough room for at least a sundae to share.

  2. Farrells is back??? Holy guacamole. Do you remember the Pig Trough? Okay, that’s it, I’m taking my kids. Farrells is the pleasant basis for so many childhood memories. Who knew how happy gluttony could make a kid.
