Based on Lawrence Kasdan’s 1992 Oscar-nominated Warner Bros. film, and adapted by Academy Award winner (Birdman) Alexander Dinelaris, the National Tour of the musical, The Bodyguard is currently at Segerstrom Hall from through- June 11, 2017, and it’s one sensational tour you’re not going to want to miss.
If you haven’t seen the movie, you’ll fall in love with the story of a former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer, who is hired to protect superstar Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker. Each expects to be in charge; what they don’t expect is to fall in love. A romantic thriller, THE BODYGUARD features a host of irresistible classics favorites including “So Emotional,” “One Moment in Time,” “Saving All My Love,” “Run to You,” “I Have Nothing,” “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” and one of the biggest selling songs of all time – “I Will Always Love You.”
In honor of my sister’s birthday, I surprised her with an evening out to catch this spectacular production that was nominated for four Laurence Olivier Awards including Best New Musical and Best Set Design and won Best New Musical at the Whatsonstage Awards. The show started off with a BANG, followed up with a fantastic concert. If you have a love of Whitney Houston’s music, you’ll love this spectacular show. Deborah Cox, the lead actress was phenomenal as Rachel Marron, giving us the chills as she belted out my favorite tunes from the musical.
We were excited that after the show, we had the unique opportunity to meet Deborah Cox and Judson Mills, who seemed just as excited to meet us. Loved their genuine excitement.
You still have time to catch the show! Get your tickets now!
