Hosted: Have you been to the Slidebar in Fullerton? It’s a Rock N Roll bar that celebrates the history of Orange County music with delicious bites and rockin’ entertainment in Downtown Fullerton. Recently, Gringo Bandito hot sauce partnered with Slidebar in Fullerton to create the Cali Bandito Taco, and we were invited to sample this tasty creation. The Cali Bandito Taco is a combination of their California burrito with house made tortillas, topped with the Gringo Bandito red marinated carne asada, French fries, cheddar cheese, sour cream, homemade tortillas and avocado crème. Even my daughter thought it was fantastic!
My husband had heard of The Slidebar Rock N Roll Kitchen before, but this was our first opportunity to visit. I loved the casual atmosphere, and half of the establishment was an outside eatery. I think my husband’s favorite part was the big screen television sets behind the bar where he and my son could keep an eye on the local ball game while my daughter and I carried on a conversation and had a chance to meet Brandon, the chef at The Slidebar.
Brandon shared with us that they were very excited about teaming up with Gringo Bandito to create a signature creation. The red sauce gives the Cali Bandito Taco a nice kick. Paired with the home made tortillas warmed to a crisp, French fries and avocado, and the marinated chicken is a deliciously unique blend of sweet and spicy. I was ready to order another tray of them since my daughter stole mine. She does have a fancy for anything with a hint of fire, these tacos, are now her new favorite. I even sampled the California Burrito – typically something I’d order, and it was delicious. I even added a few drops of the Gringo Bandito Sauce that was sitting on the table as well.
Even though The Slidebar can be considered a bar, because of their name, they do have great options for the kids. Every Wednesday night, the kids eat FREE! They can enjoy favorite “kids” options including chicken nuggets, grilled cheese, a cheese quesadilla, mini hamburgers and the cheesy mac n cheese as shown above. At Slidebar Rock N Roll Kitchen, their cheesy mac has a little crunch with seasoned panko bread crumbs sprinkled on top.
Special events seem to be the norm at The Slidebar. Tuesdays they offer $1 tacos and on Thursday nights grab your boots and cowboy hats and enjoy a night out jamming to country music, then on Sundays relax on the patio with a mimosa and bbq brunch.
