The end of summer? Can it be? Last night we were invited to sample a new restaurant: Sessions, Newport Beach which offers a variety of specialty sandwiches – the hubby’s favorite!
Surfers and beach goers are going to LOVE Sessions. With a simplistic design and conveniently located minutes from the beach, it’s the perfect spot for either dining in or grabbing a sandwich to go.

When we pulled up to Sessions, we immediately fell in love with the place. I love the casual atmosphere, artificial turf wall with rustic feel. The staff was super friendly and inviting, recommending their favorite items.
The hubster decided to try the Meddock Melee. A creative sandwich that is made of roast turkey, swiss cheese, guacamole, onion, tomato, cherry pepper, sprouts and adobo buttermilk dressing on a toasted squaw roll. Apparently the Meddock Melee is a crowd favorite, and I can see why! The blend of flavors were amazing and light.
I decided to try the Sloppy Barney which is made of pulled pork drenched in a sweet and sour bbq sauce, topped with jalapeno jack cheese, so cal slaw, a pickle and red onion on a ciabatta. The pulled pork was so tasty, even my picky eaters (the kiddos) liked it.
The kiddos each had a naked dog. I absolutely loved the presentation, it was so pretty! They weren’t sure about the poppy seed bun, but after a bite, they really enjoyed their hot dogs. We were excited to find out that the hot dogs were Nathan’s dogs – delicious!
For those who love salads, the Margherita was as beautiful as it was tasty. This delicious entree was tossed with fresh mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, fresh basil, red onion, sun dried tomatoes, baby arugula, herb vinaigrette and fresh croutons in a balsamic dressing. Because it was so big and we were enjoying our sandwiches, the hubster and I decided to split it as well as the Cucumber Salad.
If you’re looking for a light side to pair with their delicious sandwiches, the Cucumber Salad was the perfect addition.
