Our final stop on our 2 week road trip took us to Solvang.
We absolutely love this quaint little town. First of all, they have RV parking. That is really helpful because these giant coaches are really hard to park when you are being touristy.
Next, everything is within walking distance. Quaint little shops, eateries, bakeries and an amazingly delicious fudge shop.
The kids enjoyed trying on clogs in the shoe shop, of course, wanting a pair of their own.
And we all enjoyed our authentically Danish dinner at The Red Viking. Swedish Meatballs, red cabbage and more – so good!
We stayed at an awesome RV Resort about 15 minutes from Solvang in Buellton, across the street from the famous Pea Soup Andersens.
Flying Flags RV Resort ended up being a favorite destination. Approximately 3 hours from home, this RV Resort is a perfect staycation for our family. Flying Flags offers their campers tent, cabin, cottages and full hook up RV sites with a variety of amenities including:
- Full Hookups
- Cable TV Hookup
- 50, 30 & 20 Amp power at all hookup sites
- Picnic table at every site
- Premium sites with crushed granite RV pad & stamped concrete patio
- Super Premium end sites with concrete RV pad & stamped concrete patio
- Manicured grass & landscaping at every site. Mature trees throughout
- Clean Restrooms with Showers
- Pool and Jacuzzis
- Game Room
- Store
- Wifi
- Dump Station
- RV Repair Service (nearby)
- and more!
In the evenings at approximately dusk, they have a common outdoor seating area with tables, chairs and a fire pit surrounded with comfy couches; a great place to relax, have a glass of wine and enjoy the stars.
For the kids, there is a playground with slides and all kinds of things to climb on.
A coffee house named Ellen’s is in walking distance as well as Pea Soup Andersens. Wineries and casinos are within 20 minutes or so, also the perfect couples destination.
We will certainly be back – again and again.
Thanks to our readers for following along on our 1st RV Road Trip adventure. We hope to bring many more as we travel in the Willey Mobile.
