I have been talking about getting back in shape, and now I have an incentive! We’ve decided to do our first marathon as a family. The OC Fair 5K Fun Run will take place on SUNDAY AUGUST 5th, 2018 Costa Mesa, CA. It’s the 10th Anniversary OC Fair Fun Run 5K where you can run, walk, or skip through the OC Fair before the fair opens! Fun for the whole family and you can stop at the detours of fun throughout the 5K. Ride the giant slide, play the Basketball Toss, and take pictures Jammin’ at the Pacific Amphitheatre! That sounds like my kind of fun!
We love visiting the OC Fair every year, but this will give us a fun new way to experience the fairgrounds. The OC Fair Fun Run starts at 8:00 am sharp! Each runner will receive a complimentary ticket for one-time entry into the OC Fair (valid until closing on August 12, 2018) which will be included in the ‘Goodie Bag’. Entry also includes a commemorative medal, souvenir timing chip, and each PAID entry includes a race t-shirt! Arrive at least an hour early to make sure you receive your registration packet and t-shirt with plenty of time.
6:00 am – Registration and Packet Pick Up Opens at Start/Finish Line inside OC Fair Main Gate
7:40 am – Registration/Packet Pick up Closes
8:00 am – Race Starts
9:15 am – Awards Ceremony at Main Stage
10:00 am – OC Fair Opens to Public.
The Course Time Limit is 1.5 hours. All runners must be cleared of the course no later than 9:30 am. If any runners are delayed because of all the different detours to fun, or just enjoying the view, you will be divert to a shorter route to the finish line. Don’t worry – you will still get you your finisher’s medal!
Detours to Fun* – Several Detours to Fun will keep you entertained throughout the course! *Please note, all Detours to Fun are limited to one ride/slide/try per person – Basketball Toss, Break the Plates, Giant Slide and Jammin’ at the Pacific Amphitheatre.
