Families are invited to join L.A. Parent, MacGillivray Freeman Films, and the California Science Center as we dive into the mysterious world of one of nature’s most awe-inspiring marine mammals, the humpback whale in the IMAX film, Humpback Whales 3D.
Beginning July 3rd guests of the California Science Center will have the opportunity to see the IMAX film Humpback Whales 3D at the Science Center’s IMAX Theater. The movie is narrated by Ewan McGregor and is perfect for the whole family – especially something fun to do this summer.
During the film, Humpback Whales 3D, take an extraordinary journey to Alaska, Hawaii and the remote islands of Tonga and learn about these beautiful creatures; how they communicate, sing, feed, play and take care of their young.
Through the film, researchers will uncover secrets of humpbacks like why the sing, why they migrate more than 6,000 miles round trip every year and more.
So, make a plan to visit the California Science Center, where your family can explore the interactive exhibits, live demonstrations and innovative programs. A few of the exhibits include:
- Ecosystems: hands on science exhibits with 11 immersive environments
- Creative World: Learn about computer technology, digital imaging to solar cars and earthquake resistant buildings.
- World of Life: Focuses on single-celled bacterium to the 100 trillion-celled human being.
- The Endeavor: Celebrates the Endeavour’s scientific achievements.

Last time i went to the CSC was about 15yrs ago for one of my older kids field trips and i remember really enjoying the jelly fish Now i need to take my younger kids!
I still need to see the space shuttle. I'd love to immerse myself for the whole day…if not longer.
