Experience The Excitement of A Kura Revolving Sushi Bar

A few weeks ago, my girlfriends and I decided to meet up for a spur of the moment lunch date. One of the girls suggested sushi, and since it is a favorite of mine, naturally I was all in! However, I had never had the opportunity to experience a revolving sushi bar – that is, until they introduced me to Kura Revolving Sushi Bar in Laguna Hills.

I walked in to meet my friends and I was completely intrigued. I noticed a bar like setting with a conveyor in front of a bunch of individual seats.

As I was ushered through the restaurant, I discovered booths in little inlets, in which I discovered my friends already partaking in the fun.

At Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, you have two options. You browse the conveyor belt and select your dishes. The sushi is freshly prepared and placed on a small plate and put on display in a “Mr. Fresh”. Mr. Fresh is a plastic cover that keeps the sushi/entrees safe and protected from bacteria and germs in the air. Once you’ve decided on making a selection, all you do is take the plate without touching the Mr. Fresh container.

Want something to order something you do not see on the conveyor belt? You are invited to order via the computer monitors above the table. There they have their entire menu on display with images so you know exactly what you are ordering.

When your order is on it’s way, it is delivered with a notification bell and sent via the second, or upper conveyor belt. We had such a great time waiting for our orders, chatting and snapping photos of the variety of sushi offered.

Once you’re finished eating, you dispose of your plate into a plate shoot. Bikkura-pon is a fun game that counts and keeps track of the plates you return, then it delivers a fun little animated video to the screen you placed your order or a plastic ball that contains a prize.
