You’re invited to bring your whole family with your little kings and queens and come out to the StubHub Center (former Home Depot Center) on Sunday, April 27 from 11AM-5PM to celebrate the first Dutch King’s Day in over 120 years. This is quite a special day: It’s the first year the Netherlands have a King again to celebrate since 1890!
In the Netherlands, King’s Day is the biggest national holiday. Families celebrate their reigning King Willem-Alexander.
A wonderful family day out, children and adults alike dress up as kings and queens and flaunt their orange colors – the national color of the Dutch. In Los Angeles, the Dutch community invites everyone to a fun family event with live music, traditional Dutch games, bouncy house, and a children’s flea market.
King’s Day Performances include:
- DJ/MC Marc James (Dutch & international pop)
- Holland’s hot teen star Allisandro
- Family Affair
- ‘2 Brothers On The 4th Floor
- Authentic Dutch arts and crafts
- Authentic Dutch food
- International food trucks.
“King’s Day is a fun event to teach children about their heritage and real royalty in a fun way,” says Jeff Keasberry, organizer of the United Netherlands Organizations. “Why not come together as an international community, celebrate real royalty and get immersed into a great cultural experience?” To support the Dutch heritage in the U.S., a part of the proceeds from ticket sales go to the Dutch schools of Southern California, keeping children in touch with their Dutch roots and language.
In the Netherlands, King Willem-Alexander and wife Queen Maxima started their reign on April 30, 2013, so this King’s Day is not just the first King’s Day in a long time, but also the one-year anniversary of the new King’s reign.

What is the second twitter handle that we have to follow in order to get those entries? Is it @KingsDayLA? It does not say in the Rafflecopter box. Thanks!
Yes, that is correct. I fixed Rafflecopter. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
This sounds like a great family event.
