Custom Built Pies at Blaze Pizza| @BlazePizza #CustomBuiltPizza

Have you heard about Blaze Pizza? It’s a great concept – fast, custom built pizzas baked in a blazing hot open flame oven and ready to eat in 180 seconds.

Blaze Pizza Cerritos Custom Built Pizzas

I had heard about this restaurant chain, and had been wanting to check it out with the family. I was really excited that we now have one not too far away as they celebrated the Grand Opening of their new Cerritos Location on 183rd Street.

The new restaurant, which features a 2,400 square foot interior with seating for 50 inside and an outdoor patio, is located at
11269 183rd St., near Buffalo Wild Wings. It’s really a great location as it is near the Los Cerritos shopping center along with many other retail outlets.

Here’s the scoop! We arrived on a day they were giving out FREE pizzas to all in honor of their grand opening. Let me tell you, this place is super popular as there was a line around the corner. However, it move rather quickly. Once you get to the counter, you decide whether you’d like a signature pizza or a custom built. Freshly made salads are also available with so many options.

The kids did a simple cheese and pepperoni pizza where the hubster and I decided to get creative with customizing!

The hubster started his custom built pizza with their signature marinara sauce and added sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, pineapple, and garlic. He also added a little extra cheese – just because.

For me, I decided to start my custom built pizza with a white sauce. Then I added mushrooms, tomatoes, zucchini, artichoke and spinach. Even with the number of people in the restaurant we received them within 5 minutes, piping hot and delicious.

Blaze Pizza makes their own dough from scratch using a recipe developed by critically-acclaimed Executive Chef Bradford Kent (the “Pizza Whisperer”), which requires a 24-hour fermentation period to produce his signature light-as-air, crisp crust. For pizza fans with specific dietary needs, Blaze Pizza offers gluten-free dough and vegan cheese. The Cerritos restaurant will also feature a selection of wine and craft beer.

Our mission at Blaze is really simple – we’re taking pizza back to its roots, “ said Jim Mizes, president &
COO of Blaze Pizza. “By making dough in-house, carefully sourcing ingredients, and cooking by fire,
we’re giving guests a great way to enjoy artisanal pizza without the wait. It’s changing the way people
think about and eat pizza.

If you get the chance, I totally recommend hitting up Blaze Pizza. We had a fantastic time and the kids were most excited about seeing their pizzas baking in the oven. They were so excited, they each finished more than half their pizzas in that one sitting. If you know my kids – they usually only eat one piece! That’s a GREAT recommendation!
