Keeping Youngsters Protected with Coppertone | @CoppertoneUSA #ad

Now that we’re at the end of July, it’s getting hot!!! We’re spending more and more days poolside or hanging out at the beach just to keep cool.  Thanks to Coppertone, I’m keeping my babies protected from the harmful rays.

Our friends at Coppertone sent us samples of their new kids line of sunscreen lotion.  Since I’m already a fan of Coppertone products, it seemed like a perfect fit.

When it comes to the babies, Coppertone has created the Water Babies Pure and Simple Sunscreen Lotion with an SPF of 50.  This lotion is specially created to protect babies skin, keeping it soft and smooth.  Water Babies Pure and Simple is super gentle and tear free so it won’t sting the eyes.

Here’s the scoop on Coppertone Water Babies Pure and Simple Sunscreen:

  • Hypoallergenic and gentle, zinc oxide formula
  • Oil, fragrance and dye free
  • Contains aloe to help prevent dryness
  • Water resistant for 80 minutes
  • SPF 50
  • Dermatologist, ophthalmologist and pediatrician tested

Both Coppertone Kids and Water Babies Pure and Simple come in 8 oz bottles and are available at national food, drug, mass and internet retailers for right around $10.  Be sure to pick one up when you know you’ll be out in the sun for any length of time to keep your youngsters UVA/UVB protected.

So for our days out in the sun, I have been using Coppertone Kids and it has worked great.  It goes on very easy (as long as the kids haven’t been in the water first).  One thing I find hard to remember is to continue to re-apply.  New rule of thumb – re-apply after lunch, snack, etc.  The sunscreen isn’t guaranteed to work longer than a specified amount of time.

Things to remember when hanging out in the sun:

  • Apply sunscreen 15-30 min before heading out into the sun
  • Keep water with you to keep hydrated
  • Wear a hat and sunglasses even on a cloudy day
  • Wear swim shirts when swimming
  • Always look for shade when possible
  • Reapply sunscreen throughout the day.
