Hawaiian BBQ Dishes Now at Boudin

Have you visited Boudin Bakery lately? They’ve gone Hawaiian! Inspired by the Summer backyard barbecue and a Hawaiian theme, the corporate chef, Alan Skyersky and his team, introduced three new Hawaiian BBQ menu items featuring perfectly seasoned, seared and slow-roasted BBQ pork. For a limited time, order up these fantastic dishes: Classic BBQ Pork Sandwich, Aloha BBQ Pork Sandwich and the Luau BBQ Pork Salad.

Boudin Hawaiian BBQ

We were invited to a Summer Luau to sample the Hawaiian BBQ entrées at Boudin Bakery. During our Luau, Chef Alan treated us to a cooking demonstration showing us how the chefs at Boudin assemble the new menu items. My little one was delighted to help Chef Alan, in fact, telling him she wanted to work with him – NOW, as his apprentice! Guess she thoroughly enjoys cooking with him.

Melissa and Chef Alan served the Luau Pork Salad. A delicious blend of spring mix lettuce, roasted BBQ pork, red and green cabbage, carrots, cucumber, red-bell pepper, fantastic house made caramelized pineapple, pickled red onion, almonds, cilantro and a ginger soy vinaigrette. The blend of flavors was both light and refreshing and the best part, the serving size is 314 calories.

We couldn’t get enough of the Aloha BBQ Pork Sandwich. Served hot, the Aloha BBQ Pork Sandwich is loaded with slow roasted BBQ pork, caramelized pineapple, pickled red onion, cilantro, and a ginger soy vinaigrette. Basically it’s just like taking the Luau Pork Salad and serving it up on a toasted sourdough baguette. I loved the crunch of the baguette, the blend of sweetness from the caramelized pineapple and bold flavor of the pork.

The Classic BBQ Pork Sandwich was also just as delicious. A simple sandwich, the slow roasted pork is piled on a buttered sourdough baguette topped with a tasty house-made coleslaw.
