It’s August, and the kids are already going back to school! As a matter of fact, they start this morning. So it’s back to the normal CRAZY schedule of getting up and running around the house, getting the family ready for school. However, this year I think I’ll save myself a little time and start planning lunches for all of us. With the new Snapware Lunch Kit, I’ve we’re going to continue to make a change for healthier options.

Back to School with Snapware

With the start of the school year, we’ve all vowed to make healthier choices when it comes to food selection. The first step is to start packing lunches for ALL of us. The kiddos (and I) love the quick lunch options available at the grocery store, but may of them come with sugary drinks or candy bar desserts. With my kiddo’s help, we were able to pick some of their favorite items to create a bento style lunch.

For the kids, the Snapware® Total Solution™ On the Go 12-pc Plastic Value Pack is perfect for the kids. The set includes three 1.3-cup Square containers w/ Pink Seals, two 3-cup Rectangle containers w/ Blue Seals & two Rectangle Ice Packs. It’s genius actually – with an ice pack for the rectangle containers, I won’t have to worry about the ham and cheese spoiling while sitting in their lunch boxes. I had been to our local Daiso a while ago and picked up packs paper cups to be able to separate the organic fruit snacks, meat and diary. There was even enough room to add fruit. However the square containers were perfect for a handful of fruit as well.

I love the fact that these Snapware containers have their own ice packs. All you need to do  is freeze them, and place them in the container. They fit perfectly, even when the top is snapped into place. Once frozen, the ice packs wills stay cold for approximately 4 hours at room temperature.

Now my husband and I are also jumping on the “Better Choices” band wagon and are planning on taking lunches with us to school. The Snapware Total Solution On the Go 5 Cup Plastic Square w/Divided Tray is perfect for a lunch salad. Since we both like different ingredients in our salads so the partitioned trays give us the option to add different veggies and fruit that would actually make our salad soggy if they were mixed all day.

If you are packing up something cold, you can also select the Snapware Total Solution On the Go 5 Cup Plastic Square w/Ice Pack.  It holds 5 cups of your favorite lunch item, which is perfect for any type of lunch we could possibly think of. These containers are completely air tight with a leak-proof lid that is sealed tight with 4 locking tabs. If you’re worried about someone mistaking this container for theirs – you can easily write AND erase the lids with name and/or contents. If you’re looking to save space in your lunch bag or refrigerator, these containers easily nest into each other for quick and easy stacking.
