The Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle

Have you been to Universal Studios Hollywood lately? There is an exciting new dimension of sorcery at “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” with the introduction of the “Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle.” The “Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle” illuminated Hogwarts castle and “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” nightly April 13 – 28 at Universal Studios Hollywood, but will return from May 25 – 27.

The “Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle

Last summer, we had the opportunity to experience “The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle,” where the show featured the different houses and symbols from each of the 4 houses. During this limited engagement, “Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle” brings a more intense and dramatic feel that reflects the dark creatures and wizards who challenge goodness in the Wizarding World.

Last night we finally saw “Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle”. It was an awesome experience as the castle came to life. A mesmerizing display of light, music and special effects, unleashed the creepiest, darkest creatures and villains, taking over the Hogwarts Castle.

You’ll see Dementors™, Death Eaters and other unspeakable creatures from Aragog and Mountain Trolls to Thestrals, cloak the castle with sinister images from the darker side of magic. Even Lord Voldemort™ himself appears, until the Patronus spell is cast; one of the most famous, difficult and powerful defenses against the Dark Arts. Check out the show here:

If you haven’t yet visited the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios, you really should. We waited until my children were old enough to enjoy the books. They were able to step out of the words on page, and into the story. From its snow-capped roofs and cobblestone streets to the historic British sensibilities that characterize the whimsical look and feel of the land, “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” transports guests of all ages to the very places they watched on the silver screen.

With so much to see and do at Universal Studios Hollywood, the all-new 2019 Season Pass is a great way to experience the fun throughout the year for $149 when purchased online. Blackout dates and restrictions apply. Visit www.UniversalStudiosHollywood.com for more details.

  1. I have a feeling this will return to Universal Studios Hollywood for Halloween Horror Nights 2022 since we are getting Death Eaters at Hogsmeade for the first time ever. It has not been confirmed by Universal themselves but I am hopeful of it.
