{ad} Ever feel like you just need to get away? Maybe a little time to yourself to unplug from the stresses of life and family? I know I have been needing a little “down time” to give myself the opportunity to slow down, relax and let my responsibilities slip out of my mind for a good couple of hours. Glen Ivy Hot Springs in Corona offers guests the opportunity to slip away, relax, renew and enjoy bathing in mineral springs, mud baths, hot and cold plunges, steam rooms, and saunas. It’s the perfect place to spend doing everything and nothing at the same time.
Last week I was invited to the media event at Glen Ivy Hot Springs in Corona to experience and share the wonders of Glen Ivy. Can you believe that up until last weekend I had not visited this tranquil location? Now that I’ve had the opportunity to indulge in the pools, baths, mud zone and experience The Grotto, I totally recommend making an appointment and go.
Several of my blogger friends were also invited to go, which made the day even more special since I was able to bring along my bestie. Planning a day at Glen Ivy Hot Springs is great weather you’re on your own, or even more fun with friends. Once we checked in, we were invited to roam the property, get comfortable in plush robes and visit the Goco Café for refreshments.
When planning a day at Glen Ivy Hot Springs, you’re going to want to take a couple of things into consideration. Glen Ivy is all about relaxation and rejuvenation. You’ll want to make sure you plan accordingly. You’ll need to bring a bathing suit with you (preferably dark colors or black), flip flops or comfortable sandals, hair ties or clips and a brush. You’ll be traveling from pool to bath, to treatments, so I would think twice about jewelry and cell phones. Since the plan is to relax, I’d utilize the locker rooms and make sure your belongings are locked up in a safe place, don’t forget to turn off your cell phone so you’ll have a chance to unplug and let the daily stressors melt away.
At Goco Café, Chef Micah Severeid presented some beautiful appetizers for guests including Bruschetta, Lobster Po’Boy, Wonton Ahi Chips, Miso Cod Lettuce Wraps and a fabulous Cheese Board.
The staff was so friendly and accommodating. They recommended visiting the mineral baths, then taking about 45 minutes to enjoy all the benefits of Club Mud, then visit the Grotto for our scheduled appointment.
A popular hot spot at Glen Ivy was The Healing Zone. This is where the two mineral baths are located. The salt and sulfur baths were quite crowded most of the day. It was recommended to choose one of the baths and soak for about 15-20 minutes. My bestie and I felt this was perfect timing as it gave us the opportunity to catch up since we hadn’t seen each other in over 6 months. The smell of the sulfur bath is a little strong, so 20 minutes is more than enough.
Next we made our way to The Mud Club. Remember the days of getting dirty and playing in the mud? Well, it’s sort of like that. You have the opportunity to take a dip in a clay mud pool, and later yourself up in the red clay mud that draws impurities and exfoliates. Once you’re covered with a light layer, let it dry on your skin. A quick stop in the sauna or lay out in the sun, the mud takes approximately 45 minutes to cure on your skin. You will know you’re done when the mud looks like a powder on your skin. At that point, you can wash it off in the outdoor showers. Your skin will be so soft.
Our final destination for the day was The Grotto. For an additional fee, indulge in the ultimate moisturizing experience. Enter beautiful caves where a silky body masque of warm aloe vera, coconut oil, eucalyptus and lavender are carefully painted onto your skin from your neck to your toes by one of Glen Ivy’s staff. Then make your way to the hydration chamber where the mask soaks into your skin. As your continue your journey through the caves, you’ll reach the shower room where you can rinse away the mask leaving your skin feeling soft and hydrated. The best part, this experience is even more awesome with friends.
