Since we had Monday off of school, I decided to take the family down to the beach. Figured it was the perfect opportunity to get in our annual holiday photo since I’ve been thinking about our Christmas cards. For lunch, we just had to check out the new Fresh Brothers in Newport Beach, since I had heard they have finally made their way out to the OC.
Fresh Brothers started off with brothers – Adam, Michael, and Scott who grew up in Chicago with a love for old style neighborhood pizzerias. Scott opened the Miller Pizza Company in Chicago, and in 2008, Adam and Michael decided to start their own pizzeria with a California twist in Manhattan Beach. With handmade pizza dough and their very own pizza sauce made fresh daily, families will love Fresh Brothers pizzas.
We arrived at Fresh Brothers and were immediately greeted when we walked in the door. The staff was certainly friendly and immediately turned their attention to our kiddos. They surprised them with their very own ball of pizza dough to play with. They were so excited, they ran off to pick their table to start kneed and stretch their very own creation.
With the kiddos entertained, we were impressed to find a variety of gluten free and vegan options, along with 7 different handmade salads to choose from. The pizza comes in thin crust, skinny crust and deep dish with quite a selection of fresh toppings.
We decided to start off with the Fresh Knots, delicious garlic bread tied into twisted knots dusted with parmesan and a side of pizza sauce. Right out of the oven, the knots didn’t last long. They were certainly a hit with the entire family.
For the kids, they decided to get individual deep dish cheese pizzas. For my finicky little eaters, we could have let them split one because it was larger than we thought – however they were excited to have some to take home.
And the Hubster and I had to go with The Miller Special which was huge! So much more than we expected, we could only finish 2 slices each that were loaded with sausage, pepperoni, ground beef, bacon and ham in deep dish.
There are 12 Fresh Brother locations all through LA, Orange County and in the Valley
