Since you’ve been following along for some time now, you know that we are quite busy running from dance class to baseball game to softball game with the Hubster’s team or even off to events. With the hustle and bustle of the day to day, we realize how important it is to get one on one time with the kids. I was recently told about Fodada, who is taking up a crusade to bring dads and their kids closer together with “time”.
How often do your kids get one on one time with dad? In our home, we really make it a point to give each kid the chance to have their time. Whether it’s handsome boy and dad practicing baseball in the front yard, or dad taking the princess to dance class, we make it happen.
Fodada was started by a dad who decided to spend his time focusing on what was most important to him – time with his children. The idea is simple – great clothing that dads would love, with an ingrained meaning behind it. Better yet, your support of the Fodada clothing line funds no-cost programs they believe are important to dads and families here and abroad.
So, in honor of Father’s day, Fodada is promoting their “Dad and Me” Campaign:
- Kids: Download a commitment letter from the fodada website: (click: Commitment Letter), sign it and give it to your dads on Father’s Day.
- Dads: Sign the commitment letter and pledge to spend three, one-hour blocks of time per month doing things together that are totally fun and silly, educational, and active and outdoors. It’s not a gimmick but rather an investment in your relationship that we hope will create habits, which to promote dad-and-child interaction and engagement.
It doesn’t stop there. Once you have signed your commitment, send a photo featuring your “Dad and Me” moment with the completed Commitment Letter to [email protected] and Dad will receive a specially designed t-shirt from the Fodada collection – a badge of honor for the commitment.
Tonight, the kids and I were getting ready to celebrate our dad a little early. I spoke to each of the kids about their special time with their dad, and what was their favorite moment:
Handsome boy said his favorite quality time with dad is baseball practice and games. Dad gets pitches and plays catch any time he is asked.
And for the princess, she said her favorite special time with dad just happened over the weekend – the Father Daughter Ball at her dance studio. Really, a special night they will never forget.
