An annual tradition, the Nutcracker is a great way to ring in the holidays. This December, the Festival Ballet Theater, and The Southland Ballet Academy presents The Nutcracker from December 9th through the 24th at the Irvine Barclay Theater.
Every year, my daughter and I enjoy a live production of The Nutcracker. This year, we’re planning on attending the Festival Ballet Theater’s The Nutcracker at the Irvine Barclay Theatre.
Festival Ballet Theatre will present a family-friendly production featuring superb colorful scenery and dazzling costumes, which make this age-old tradition sparkle like new. The audience will be swept away by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s iconic (traditional) score as the Sugar Plum Fairy, Clara, and a cast of hundreds take you on a magical journey to mystical lands.
This full-length traditional production is choreographed and directed by Festival Ballet Theatre’s Artistic Director, Salwa Rizkalla, and features world-renowned guest artists, FBT’s professional company dancers, and exceptional young talent from across the Southland.
