Just like in the beloved movie, join Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion, Dorothy and her little dog Toto, as they journey through the magical land of Oz to meet the Wizard and obtain their hearts’ desires.
One of the most memorable scenes was when you first see this beautiful curtain coming down, actually looking like a backdrop, until you discover that it’s acutally part of Glenda’s gorgeous gown.
The Wicked Witch of the West played by Jacquelyn Piro Donovan was both a little intimidating with some great one-liners. Her winged monkeys were a little scary and caused havic for Dorothy and her friends.
Danielle Wade starred as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz at Segerstrom Hall, who was chosen by the Canadian public through CBC TV’s reality show Over The Rainbow, the tour of THE WIZARD OF OZ is an enchanting adaptation of the all-time classic. Danielle performed amazingly singing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”.
Crowd favorite, Toto, played by Nigel, was just adorable, while Jamie McKnight as the Scarecrow had an amazing voice.
Developed from the ever-popular MGM screenplay, this new production contains all the beloved Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg songs from the Oscar®-winning movie score, all of the favorite characters and iconic moments, plus a few surprises along the way, including new songs by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
One thing to note, just like in the original movie, there are some scenes that may scare younger audiences, for instance the tornado and lightening are quite loud and the monkeys a little scary.
Act now to get tickets to the first North American tour of the new stage adaptation of The Wizard of Oz before they move on to the next city.
