Product Review: A review post by me on behalf of Master Lock
With my kids being in 2nd and 3rd grade, I hadn’t yet considered keeping their possessions safe while at school. However, with this day and age of tablets and iPads in the classrooms, we need to teach our children to keep their belongings safe. Master Lock has a line of products for students of all ages that will keep their school supplies safe while on campus.
For my elementary school kids, Master Lock offers two types of back pack locks. Master Lock 1550DAST Backpack Lock ($4.51) or Master Lock 1548DCM Set Your Own Combination Padlock ($7.66) creates an added layer of protection that will help deter possible theft and give you and your child one less thing to worry about. My kids prefer the “set your own combination padlock” because you can personalize it. They easily remember the combination because they chose the numbers.
If you have middle school or high school students the following Master Lock items are perfect for school lockers:
• Master Lock 4400D Indoor Bluetooth Padlock ($70) – turns your phone or any Bluetooth-enabled device into a key.
• 1500iD Speed Dial Set-Your-Own Combination Lock ($13.93) – opens with a combination of directional movements, is easy to use and comes in four vibrant color options (red, purple, blue and black). Perfect for younger kids who don’t have Smartphones yet!
College age students need more protection, especially when living in dorm rooms. The Master Lock 5900D SafeSpace ($28.69) is a great way to keep your cell phone, money, keys, jewelry, credit cards or other small valuables secure while on campus or away from your belongings. The SafeSpace may also be great for traveling – keep your cell phone, money, jewelry and passports safe in transit.
Have a laptop? The SentrySafe PL048E Portable Laptop Safe ($64.47) is perfect for those who are living in a dorm or apartment for the added security for your laptop when you are not there. Anchor the safe to the ground in your closet or under the bed, place your laptop in the padded safe and lock it for safe keeping. It has a digital lock and an override/key lock in case you forget your combination.

My kids aren’t at the age yet to bring electronics to school, but one day will. Great idea!!
My best back to school tip is, if you don’t want it stolen or lost, don’t take it to school!
Ditto Melissa, Don’t take it!
