I can’t believe I’m a few months away. The big 40! WOW, do I feel old! But with that, comes something most women dread…the Mammogram. Yes, I have to make an appointment in February, and I’m really not looking forward to it. I’m sure everyone felt that way when their doctor indicated it was time for regular mammogram screenings. Yes, I’m nervous about it, but I think I’m more nervous about Breast Cancer, one of the leading causes of death in women. Since early detection is KEY, it is important to start screenings now.
I have a best friend who’s aunt was recently diagnosed. She was an integral part of the treatment process as she drove her aunt, daily to Ontario for her chemo treatments. The realization that it doesn’t effect one person, it effects the entire family. Breast Cancer is one scary beast!
In honor of Breast Cancer Awarness Month (October), some friends and I got together for a little brunch at Mimi’s Cafe. Such a great cause to celebrate, catch up with friends and contribute!
