Have you heard?  The Aquarium of the pacific has welcomed a female sea otter, rescued off Del Monte Beach in Northern California on Valentine’s Day.   Government and wildlife officials determined that she was unable to take care of herself in the wild and was transported to The Aquarium of the Pacific as her permanent home.

The adorable little otter arrived Friday, March 16th and Aquarium staff have been taking good care of her.  She is estimated to be 9-10 weeks old and will stay “behind the scenes” until she is large enough to enter the Aquarium’s rescued otter exhibit.  It will probably take around six months or so for her to grow large enough so plan to visit in the fall to see this adorable little girl.

The Aquarium is also involved in numerous conservation efforts, including sustainable seafood, watershed education, and ocean literacy. Location: 100 Aquarium Way, Long Beach, CA 90802 Phone: 562-590-3109 Web: www.aquariumofpacific.org
