{Hosted} You know, I love living in Anaheim. There are so many great things to experience and see. Recently the House of Blues opened their newest location at the Garden Walk, offering Southern California locals a great new venue for dining, cocktails and entertainment. I was recently invited to check out their southern-inspired BBQ dishes, kicking off summer and the grilling season.
Excited to check out the House of Blues Anaheim Restaurant & Bar, I arrived at the Anaheim Gardenwalk and headed for the venue. I wasn’t sure who was performing for the evening, but was in awe of the line outside to get in. They have only been open for an month of two and are already a popular spot in North Orange County. Once inside, I was ushered to a private dining room for a seated, community table style 4-course tasting dinner featuring signature southern-inspired BBQ offerings.
We were introduced to Executive Sous Chef Kelvin Crisostomo, who shared the delicious BBQ items in a 4-course dinner during our media preview.
The Pulled Pork Sandwich with delicious slow cooked pork lathered in a rich BBQ sauce and placed on an artisan bun. The coleslaw and crispy French fries compliment this tasty dish nicely.
The Korean BBQ Riblets, my favorite bites from the tasting were bits of rib meat rubbed with a Chinese 5-Spice and BBQ sauce, and served on a bed of kimchi slaw. The jalapenos offered a little bit of heat to this delicious dish. The Korean BBQ Riblets are found exclusively in the Foundation Room at the House of Blues Anaheim.
The St. Louis Ribs were amazing. Evenly cooked to perfection with a secret BBQ sauce that Executive Sous Chef Kelvin Crisostomo would not share, definitely a dish I would recommend as finger licking good! Then we ended the night with a Bourbon Bread Pudding that had a hint of a banana flavor.
