What’s the best way to celebrate turning 40? Disney, of course!
Hubby is a busy man. Seriously, there are times we may see him for 5 minutes when he comes home from school or practice (a high school teacher/softball coach) and he’s off to referee a basketball game. The day I said goodbye to my 30’s, I decided I’d leave it up to the kids. I asked them where they wanted to take Mom for her birthday. Naturally, they chose to make it a Disney Birthday.
So in the morning, I dropped them off at school and met a couple of buddies at Mimi’s Cafe – you heard Mimi’s is going “RED” in February, right? If not, you can check out previous posts HERE & HERE. We had a wonderful time chatting, taking pictures (typical bloggers) and eating – a perfect way to celebrate.
I left the girls and headed back to school to grab the munchkins. Princess is usually out right after lunch, but my handsome boy doesn’t get picked up until after 3pm. Not that day, they were both signed out and ready to celebrate with Mom!
Where to first? Disney’s California Adventure!!! Their favorite stop is Carsland. Since the princess is still under 40 inches, she isn’t able to ride Radiator Springs Racers quite yet. Next in line – Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree. We giggled and spun and had a blast!
Then it was time for a snack. Thinking we were going to have dinner in another couple of hours, I decided to bring a couple of toddler friendly snacks – raisins, goldfish, etc. They ate those, then proceeded to tell me they wanted more. Hey, it was Mom’s birthday…why not? He chose churro bites and she chose ice cream.
Some friends were meeting us at the park, so we decided to take a quick photo opportunity with Mater. I must say, Mater made my day when he sang “Happy Birthday” to me. So cute!!!
We met up with our friends, Mary at LetsPlayOc and Kirstin at SoCal Kids Outdoor Adventures. As you can tell, we made our way to Toy Story Midway Mania for some competitive fun.
We stayed as late as we could, considering we had school the next morning, AND it was getting cold. However, most people already know….Disneyland/California Adventure is a GREAT way to spend a birthday!!! Don’t forget to stop and pick up your birthday badge! When noticed, cast members make sure your day is special!
