Rather than do our typical day trip to San Diego for Spring Break, we decided to take a trip to Vegas. Figured the kids would LOVE the lights and sights there.
With potty training toddlers, we obviously stopped at our favorite mid-way point from when hubs and I were kids….The Barstow McDonalds. Gave us a chance to stretch our legs, get something to eat and do a little shopping in between.
Then we continued our journey to Vegas. With so many beautiful hotel/casinos to choose from, naturally we chose Paris (because we had a free room there 🙂 Great location on the strip as it’s approximately half way through.
We had a really nice size room that we were able to keep our double stroller in the corner and the kids still had tons of room to play.
After settling, we decided to head out for the evening to show the kids the lights and head for some dinner and fun. With a quick stop at the Cosmopolitan for pictures…
Princess LOVED this giant shoe!
Not having been to Vegas in quite a while, we were on the search of “Kid” “Toddler” friendly hotels and found that The Excalibur Casino has a “Fun Dungeon” jam packed with carnival and arcade games. Our munchkins LOVED earning tickets they could redeem later for goodies.
The next night we headed off to Circus Circus, another favorite of mine as a kid. I remember all the fun my brother and I had dragging my parents around, begging for money to try to win another goofy stuffed animal. Well, our kids had just as much fun!
The kids also really enjoyed the Fremont Street Experience at Downtown Las Vegas. The show currently runs every hour after dusk – great for Toddlers that to to bed early. You also get to see many celebrity impersonators.
During the day, the pool is always a hit! Paris has a gigantic pool that is fun, but I’ve heard of several other beautiful pools with floating rivers, etc. Next trip, we’re gonna scout those pools!!!
There really is a lot to do with kids in Vegas, I agree. Just, don’t let them see SIn CIty in its nighttime “glory.” 🙂
I haven’t brought the kids to vegas, yet! This is making me think a vacation there could be in our future!!!
The picture of the shoe is awesome. I don’t always think about Vegas as being family-friendly….great post
