Boudin has spiced up their menu adding a new twist to the classic grilled cheese sandwich. This week we were invited to to a Grilled Cheese Please tasting event in Huntington Beach to sample the Grilled Cheese Menu.
I’ve you’ve ever been to San Francisco, you may have seen where Boudin started – a tiny old-world bakery on Dupont Street. In 1849 The Boudin French Bakery is established, baking fresh bread daily. To this day, the bakers continue to hand craft each loaf, using a portion of the original mother dough created in the beginning to start each day’s batch of sourdough bread.
My family LOVES sourdough bread. Lightly toast a slice with butter and we’ve created the perfect snack for any time of the day. However, adding a little cheese to our favorite bread and we’re in heaven.
The kids favorite (besides the Mac and Cheese) is the Great Grilled Cheese is the classic grilled sandwich. It is loaded with havarti & sharp cheddar cheese melted on a parmesan crusted sliced sourdough. Want a little more pizazz? (Add a little bacon for a heartier sandwich for an additional fee)
The Grilled Brie with Apples & Fig Jam was amazing. They use Brie and havarti cheese melted over a parmesan crusted multigrain bread loaded with sliced apples and fig jam. While I enjoyed each and every grilled cheese (a couple of times), this was my favorite.
If you like a little kick, you’ll love the NEW Jalapeño Cheddar Grilled Cheese. Just imagine a wonderful Jalapeño Cheddar bread where the Jalapeños are diced up and blended with cheddar cheese through out the bread, then add melted cheddar cheese between two slices; my husband’s favorite.
