When the kids are out of school, I’m always looking for a fun place to take them, to entertain them for a few hours.  Since it’s about 20 min from our house, I decided we were going to head to Prehistoric Pets to check out the reptiles.

When you walk in, there is a huge exhibit to your right with adorable turtles swimming about.  The best part, you can feed them!!!  My little guy had a lot of fun figuring out how to use the long tweezers to grab live caterpillars to feed the turtles.  Unfortunately, my princess didn’t want to get close to any of them.  CAUTION, the turtles may snap, so you shouldn’t get too close.

As you walk around the store part of the Zoo, you will find lizards, spiders and other reptiles that are available for purchase.  Yes, I’ve always wanted to own a lizard – crazy I know.  When the kids are older, I certainly hope to purchase one for them.

This little guy was just sitting on the counter watching  everything and everyone walking buy.  He really looked like a toy – but moved!!!

For $5 a person, you can go into the museum side of Prehistoric Pets.  There you’ll find reptiles like pythons, monitors, lizards, spiders, scorpions, and lots more.

If your youngster LOVES reptiles, you can even host a party here at Prehistoric Pets/Jurassic Parties.  Kids will be able to get up close and personal with geckos, taranchulas, snakes and more.

You can even visit “Twinkie”, the World’s Largest Retic Snake in captivity.
