Back in May, had the opportunity to attend a media tasting of an awesome family owned Mexican fast food restaurant, fairly new to Orange County. Miguel’s Jr. their third OC location this past May at the Tustin Marketplace.

I just loved the atmosphere of Miguel’s Jr. in Tustin. Bright blue walls, friendly staff to greet you as you walk into the door, I felt right at home. We had a chance to meet Mary, the founder and her sons as they told us about their rooted beginnings in the Inland Empire and their goal to keep Miguel’s authentic.

It all started in 1975 when Miguel’s Restaurant was opened by Mike & Mary Vasquez with homestyle recipes. Initially established in the Inland Empire (11 locations), Miguel’s is quickly becoming quite popular in Orange County with their traditional Mexican food in Costa Mesa, Orange and now Tustin.

When you visit Miguel’s Jr, you will enjoy rich burritos, combinations that include authentic tacos, enchiladas, taquitos, chile rellenos and chile verde; all made with fresh ingredients. As a matter of fact, we were invited to tour the kitchen and see the giant pots of refried beans that are cooked up to perfection daily.

Miguel’s Jr. has an awesome contest going on in Orange County, the ‘Eat Better/Eat Traditional Challenge’. Between June 29th and July 5th, bring in a competitor’s receipt from any Mexican restaurant to any OC location for a FREE Miguel’s Jr Famous Burrito so you can try it out for yourself!
