FREE classes for Toddlers (North Orange County)

Did you know that in North Orange County, the School of Continuing Education offers FREE parenting classes?

Kindergym is a toddler fitness class for children 1 year old to 4 1/2 years old.  This class is designed to get youngsters into a routine of circle time, stories, movement in dance.  When  my munchkins took the class, the instructor was excellent.  Even though it seemed repetitive  it was amazing for the kids because they were so eager to get involved.  If there was a child that wasn’t into the group activities, the were welcome to wander to the toys and equipment and play quietly, in the hopes they would return to the group fun.

You can see some of it here:

Kindergym classes are broken into age groups: age 1-2, age 2-3 and age 3-4 1/2.  At the time my son took the class, he was between 3 and 4.  My daughter being 1 1/2 was able to participate in the class with the older kids, making fun for both.

Joyful Parenting: is a class designed for children ages 2.5 to 5 and includes art, music and movement.  Joyful Parenting also had a great structure and repetition.  The children always knew when they got to class, they got to play, even had stations they were able to go to for different activities   Singing, dancing and stories were followed by snack time, where all children enjoyed eating in a group environment, learning great social skills.

These classes are available in Anaheim, Fullerton, and Yorba Linda.  If you are interested in enrolling, make sure you do so early!  Keep an eye on their website for enrollment dates and mark your calendar to sign your youngsters up the first day enrollment opens as classes fill up quickly.

  1. Hi there…where would I look to find this info? Most of the content is about older adult classes and I couldn’t find anything in the “kid college” section. Thanks!

  2. Hi, Jennnifer, this is a great website! I’m a mom to toddler & baby and moving to south Orange County, are there any classes like this in southern OC? We are likely going to be in Aliso Viejo or Mission Viejo, thanks so much.

    • Hi Yesenia, We are in Anaheim too. We started my daughter off at a local studio that was down the street, however they moved to Cypress and my daughter has moved on to another, better studio from there.
