A Birthday Tribute to my Baby Boy.
I can’t believe it! They always say it happens so fast. They grow up in the blink of an eye. It seems like yesterday that we were in the hospital awaiting visits from doctors because of my pre-eclampsia and his decelerating heartbeat. They finally made the decision for a C-Section because of that decelerating heartbeat, such a scary time because we didn’t know if he was going to be strong enough to make it on his own. With 30 minutes of wheezing, he was a resilient little guy, breathing on his own while I was within stroke range because my blood pressure was so high. But we made it through without any complications.
And today, as we celebrate my little man’s 9th birthday, I’m so proud of the young man he has become. Always putting his sister first, my bubba is a sweet cuddle monkey, who loves to make everyone laugh. He is a super smart little guy who loves to day dream, dive into his iPod games and play baseball with his dad and friends.
While I want him to stay my little man forever (and I keep telling him he’s not allowed to hit double digits), I’m looking forward to seeing the path he chooses as he grows older and wiser.
